Meaning of Rationale in Business Law

Justification comes from the Latin ratio, which means “reason,” and rationalizes, “endowed with reason.” Ratio is a somewhat colloquial English word for the relationship (in number, quantity or degree) between things. A discussion of why a decision was made. Rationales document why the choice was made, how it was developed, what assumptions were used, and why the conclusion is realistic.
